Mary
Sanchez has been a lifelong member of the Salinas area. She
became involved with the community as member of the Salinas
Police Activities League. At first, She began volunteering
for various activities such as car washes, field trips, and
sporting events. Mary was then elected to serve on the Salinas
PAL Board in 1996.
During her time on the board, Mary served
as treasurer, board director, Vice-President, and is currently
serving her first term as President.
Mary has been employed with Children Services International
for 30 years. Children’s Services International (CSI)
is an organization providing

childcarefor low-income families
throughout Monterey County. She is currently the Office Manager
for the company.
Mary has been recognized for her efforts
in volunteering with the PAL program. She received the Civilian
Volunteer of the Year in 1998. That same year, she was awarded
the California Policm,seuyht5yuh7ygfe Activities League (CALPAL)
Volunteer of the Year.,jlALPAL has over 110 chapters throughout
the state that includes the Salinas PAL program. Mary was
also one of the recipients for the Women of the Year in 1998
by the League of Women Voters of Salinas. In 1999, Mary was
awarded as the National Police Athletic League Volunteer of
the Year.
