Daniela
DeBaca Graduated from Watsonville H.S. in 1991. There, she
was the Captain of the Watsonville High School Color Guard.
Daniela
was hired by the Salinas Police Department in 1999. Daniela
immediately became an Advisor for the department's Explorer
program where to this day she is still committed to the program.
As
an Explorer Advisor, Daniela is repsonsible for training volunteers
between the ages of 14 and 21 about various police procedures.
Most Explorers are interested in Law Enforcement and have
helped out at several public events including the Salinas
Rodeo, the California Airshow, the ATT Pro/Am Golf Tournament,
and events at Laguna Seca Raceway.

The
Explorers have also competed in Law Enforcement competitions
against other city's Explorers throughout
the state. The Explorers also enjoy several outings every
year sponsored by the Salinas Police Department.
Although
the Explorer Program receives its own donations and funding,
the program is currently under the direction of the Salinas
Police Activities League.
Daniela
has volunteered for the "Tip-a-Cop" program where
the proceeds go to the Special Olympics. She has also volunteered
in the Relay for Life where the proceeds go to the American
Cancer Society. Finally, she has also volunteered her services
at the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival for several years now.
During
Daniela's tenure with the Salinas Police Department, she has
been assigned to Investigations, Vehicle Abatement, Parking
Control, and as a Front Desk Officer.
Daniela
was a unanimous choice to join the Salinas PAL program as
a Board Member in 2004.
