CSO Daniela DeBaca

Salinas PAL Secretary

Daniela DeBaca Graduated from Watsonville H.S. in 1991. There, she was the Captain of the Watsonville High School Color Guard.

Daniela was hired by the Salinas Police Department in 1999. Daniela immediately became an Advisor for the department's Explorer program where to this day she is still committed to the program.

As an Explorer Advisor, Daniela is repsonsible for training volunteers between the ages of 14 and 21 about various police procedures. Most Explorers are interested in Law Enforcement and have helped out at several public events including the Salinas Rodeo, the California Airshow, the ATT Pro/Am Golf Tournament, and events at Laguna Seca Raceway.

The Explorers have also competed in Law Enforcement competitions against other city's Explorers throughout the state. The Explorers also enjoy several outings every year sponsored by the Salinas Police Department.

Although the Explorer Program receives its own donations and funding, the program is currently under the direction of the Salinas Police Activities League.

Daniela has volunteered for the "Tip-a-Cop" program where the proceeds go to the Special Olympics. She has also volunteered in the Relay for Life where the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. Finally, she has also volunteered her services at the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival for several years now.

During Daniela's tenure with the Salinas Police Department, she has been assigned to Investigations, Vehicle Abatement, Parking Control, and as a Front Desk Officer.

Daniela was a unanimous choice to join the Salinas PAL program as a Board Member in 2004.
