Every year the Salinas PAL takes over 80 kids to the Monterey Bay aquarium. Most kids are participants in the "Weed and Seed" program and even though Salinas is only 30 minutes from the Pacific ocean, for some, this is their very first time to ever see the waters. The "Weed and Seed" program is funded by the Department of Justice and the City of Salinas.
