Renee
Amparano is a 1978 graduate of Alisal High School. She is
married and has a son, 18, and a daughter, 20.
Renee is employed as a bus driver with Economic
Opportunity Commission of San Luis Obispo County (EOC) Migrant
& Seasonal Headstart Program, serving Monterey County.
She has held this position for the past 15 years.
Renee became involved with the Salinas Police
Activities League in 1990 mainly to get her children involved
with interacting with other children their own age. She wanted
to and succeeded in guiding her own children as well as hundreds
of others in the right direction by pointing out the hazards
of drugs and gangs.
Renee first became a volunteer for the program
working in the concession stands for the State Baseball Tournament
held in Salinas as well as the Salinas PAL Junior Giants program.

She has also volunteered for
several other PAL events including the Bicycle Rodeo, the
PAL Computer Lab, and the PAL Social Education trips as a
chaperone. Renee also helps with organizing and planning the
yearly PAL Halloween and Christmas Parties that we host for
the youth of Salinas.
In March 1997, Renee became an active member
on the PAL Board of Directors. At about the same time, she
became active in the PAL's Archery program by scheduling and
setting up meeting times for the event.
In February of 2003, Renee became involved
in the PAL Bowling League. Renee was in charge of checking
in the participants as well as keeping statistics for all.
Finally, Renee is responsible for scheduling
the PAL annual trips to the local Wild Things Animal Park
for youth ages 5-11, and the Alcatraz Island boat trip for
youth ages 12-17.
